Care of your child's teeth

Begin daily brushing as soon as the child's first tooth erupts with a pea size amount of a children's fluoride toothpaste once a day (500ppm). From the age of two years brush twice a day with a children's fluoride toothpaste. Flossing the teeth should begin when any two teeth touch.

Parents should help their child until it has developed the skill level to brush properly.

When the first permanent tooth cut your child should use a Junior toothpaste with a higher fluoride content to prevent caries.

See a children's dentist for regular checkups and cleaning every 6 months.
